FCPS Visitor Questions
1. How do I pick my child up early from school?
Please contact your child’s school ahead of time and arrange for a pick-up time. We will continue to check IDs as part of this process so please be prepared to present your identification. Masks, shields, or face coverings are required to enter school buildings. There will be two options for pick up with ID presentation. You may elect to show your ID at the call button and wait outside for your child. You may elect to enter the main office with your ID and your mask, shield, or face covering and undergo a health screening to pick up your child.
2. Have morning drop-off procedures changed?
Students will be dropped off at the designated entrance at each school. Please allow your child to exit the vehicle quickly and safely into the care of the designated staff member. Students will receive a health screening upon arrival. At the present time, parents will not be allowed to escort students to classrooms.
3. Will parents be able to enter the building?
Although we would like to conduct as much business as possible virtually or by telephone, parents are still welcome to visit our main office to conduct business as needed. Masks, shields, or face coverings and a health screening are required to enter school buildings.
4. Will I be able to have lunch with my student this year?
At the present time, parents will not be allowed to have lunch with students on campus.
5. What processes will be in place for outside vendors and deliveries to schools?
Public vendors are allowed limited access to the schools but must present identification, submit a signed understanding of expectations, and undergo a health screening. Social distancing and use of face coverings, masks, or shields are expected practices. Individuals making non-entrance deliveries at the school door must wear face coverings, masks, or shields is required.
