PRESS RELEASE – May 12, 2023

Kessler Potter, a Fluvanna County High School 11th grade student, participated in the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) at FCHS last fall and achieved a score exemplary enough to meet requirements to enter the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) noted that Kessler has demonstrated outstanding academic potential. There were more than 1.3 million program entrants, and Kessler is among the 50,000 highest scorers nationwide who will receive special recognition as either a NMSQT Semifinalist or Commended Student next fall.

Mrs. Angie Blevins, the FCHS Testing Coordinator who planned and coordinated the October 2022 PSAT/NMSQT testing at Fluvanna County High School, noted, “We are very proud of Kessler’s hard work and academic achievements and expect her to go far in her endeavors.”

Mrs. Margo Bruce, FCHS Principal, stated, “Congratulations, Kessler! Being recognized as either a NMSQT Semifinalist or Commended Student is a significant achievement and reflects her dedication and hard work toward academic excellence. The fact that she is among the 50,000 highest scorers nationwide out of over 1.3 million program entrants is truly impressive. Keep up the great work, Kessler, and continue to strive for success in all areas of your academic and personal life. Best of luck to you in the next stage of the competition!”
