“The goal of literacy instruction in Virginia is to ensure that all children have the necessary skills to become successful readers, writers, speakers, and listeners with the critical thinking skills that are required to be successful as they progress and transition through the stages of their lives.” (VDOE, 2021b). 

Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA), an early literacy curriculum rooted in the Science of Reading, designed to cultivate strong readers, writers, and critical thinkers for PreK–5 students and educators. Fluvanna K-5 students will engage in rich content knowledge across various subjects, aligned with the Core Knowledge approach and the Science of Reading principles.
